HI from St.Cath. New to Lake O fishing

Hi,I have fished most of my life in the northern lakes,got some great fish,Ive got a little more time now,so last fall I bought a CC boat,and am slowly buying the right gear for big water,really overwhelming at first,but I am very excited to see the white stuff disappear and get out..(who isn't).I have fished only a handfull of times with friends here(lake O)so  any help here would be really appretiated,as I realize there's a lot to getting out there and catching fish,
