I'm looking for information on fishing Lake Ontario in or near Port Dalhousie, ON. My GF's father lives right on the lake...and I'd love to bring my boat up and fish for some King Salmon, browns etc.
What I'm looking for is specific information on where to launch near there, where to fish, how deep etc? I dont' have down riggers but I do have trolling gear and dipsy's. Is this enough? I normally fish for StealHead in Lake Erie and we do quite well, but I've heard that Kings are something else entirely and I'm dying to try it out.
I have a 2003 SmokerCraft 21ft Millentia 212 with a 200hp Mercury and a 15hp kicker on it. The boat is nice and big with a huge back deck for trolling. I run 8 6" Shimano TDR rods and Rapala Hydros LC45 reels with 20lb hybrid line on them. I normally run spoons with my dipsy's or deep diving Rapala TD11 diving to 30ft on offshore boards out wide. I have over 400 spoons mostly 3 3/4". I don't have any flashers (could buy them if needed) and I do run snubbers so we don't break off when the fish hits.
Anyway, I'm glad to be a new member here and I look forward to any and all help you guys can give. It's about a $500.00 trip to bring the boat up so I'm really hoping I'll have the help and information I need before I make the trip. Thanks again!
