Time to scale things up and try a different approach. Here are a few reference videos on tying articulated flies, basically two connected flies that provide a large profile.
Choose materials you have and will be comfortable tying. Size and colour to suit your target species.
Be sure to have suitable wire, heavy mono, braid or appropriate shanks.
