The Invasive Species Centre has officially launched Forest Invasives Canada!
This website allows Canadians to easily access a wealth of forest pest information and resources, packed with the latest science, usable management strategies, educational webinars and instructional videos.
What's at Risk?
Forest invasives have no boundaries.
Invasive species are the second greatest threat to biodiversity, can irreversibly alter valued landscapes and pose a significant risk to important industries such as forestry and tourism. Once an invasive species is established, the cost of control is staggering as are the economic losses and repercussions on society and communities. Through awareness, knowledge and collective action, we can work together to combat invasive species in our forests.
