General Meeting Minutes

Docks going in this Wed. Bruce and his team could always use some help.
Jerry raised about $600 for Tackle Share by selling donated tackle at the Niagara Outdoor Show.
The chinook fry will arrive Apr. 16. The pens and docks will go in the week before that. We need volunteers for the feeding and monitoring. We also need a new Chair of the Pen Project.
The MNR info session on Lake Ont. & Lake Erie is happening on Thursday in Grimsby. There is a questionnaire regarding the stocking programs in Lake Ont.
The Kids Day Derby is scheduled for the first Saturday in May: May 2. Janet Slade is the new Chair for the Kids Derby and she is looking for volunteers for the Friday and Saturday.
This will be our 40th Annual Spring Derby this year, from Apr. 11 – June 6. We will have 10 places in each fish category this year as well as a big salmon of the week prizes. Running concurrently will be a Member’s challenge and a Junior Division.
The 3x3 Tournament will take place on the May long weekend: May 16-18.
The summer derby will run from June 13 – Aug. 8; and the fall derby will run from Aug. 15 – Sept. 19. All prizes will be handed out at the Sept. awards ceremony.
Mark introduced our guest speaker for the night: ”Moby” Nick Foxcroft and fishing mate Keelan of the Bill Collector Sportfishing team. As many know, Nick is a very experienced charter captain and tournament angler, and was the 2012 overall KING OF THE LAKE season champion. Some of Nick’s proven methods include small spoons, short leads off riggers, no down speed or temp., simple programs including a colour range of green, white and chrome. There was a lively discussion from the audience as many of Nick’s methods differed from theirs.
