Please be advised that on Tuesday April 19, 2016, the City of Thorold will be hosting a council and general committee meeting to discuss a revised draft discharge of firearms bylaw. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers, located at 3540 Schmon Parkway, Thorold, On.
We would appreciate, and welcome any OFAH member, or fellow hunter, trapper and/or recreational shooter who would be able to attend the meeting. If we do not show enough support or provide input, it could result in an overly restrictive discharge of firearms bylaw being passed, which would mean a loss of hunting and/or recreational shooting opportunities for all. For your convenience, we have attached a copy of our submission letter to council.
It is extremely important for all fellow hunters and recreational shooters to attend this meeting if their schedules permit. We apologize for the short notice. Unfortunately, the OFAH only received a copy of the proposed bylaw on Friday.
It is our hope and recommendation is that this bylaw is not approved by council, but rather deferred to allow for proper resident and stakeholder input.
We appreciate your support and assistance on this matter.
