Douglas Elmer Ferrier
FERRIER, Douglas Elmer - January 9, 1942 - August 23, 2016. Peacefully on Tuesday, August 23 Doug passed away at home with his wife Dawn and son Christopher by his side after a long illness with bone cancer; Son of the late Elmer and Beatrice Ferrier and predeceased by his sister Barbara Ferrier Dean. Doug will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and especially his sidekick Aramis his beloved Bengal Cat. Doug was involved with many, many activities throughout his life. He enjoyed time spent with the various local Special Olympic teams with his son Chris. His passion was attending classic car shows for which he received a trophy this Sunday passed. It was his joy to help out at the Tim Horton camp day fund raisers, and in the past was involved with the Port Dalhousie community Policing. Doug loved playing the character of "Percy The Perch" at fundraisers. Family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684-6346) on Thursday, August 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A celebration of Doug's life will be held in the chapel on Thursday morning at 11:00 o'clock. Presiding over the service is Rev. Michael Mondloch (Grace Anglican Church). In lieu of flowers, those wishing, may make memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society. Memorial tributes may be made at www.hulseandenglish.com.
