Time to scale down and tie an early season favorite, the March Brown Wet Fly
As recommended by Davie McPhail, materials used: Hook - Kamazan B170 size 12 Thread - 8/0 Orange Tail - bronze Mallard fibres Rib - flat Gold Tinsel Body - Hare's Ear or Fox Squirrel Dubbing Hackle - Brown Partridge Wing - Hen Pheasant
Please note, I plan to use size 8 hooks to develop my tying abilities, and understand the composition of this fly. The following will suffice in developing those skills. Dai-Riki 155, straight eye - the short shank will result in a compact presentation Mustad R50, down eye - light wire & longer shank Fulling Mill, Grab Gape in black nickel was highly recommended
