Greetings Everyone,
Like it or not, September is here and we have a busy month with lots going on.
First up is our Lake Erie Walleye Outing & Fish Fry planned for this Saturday, it’s a joint event with our friends from the Strait Line Anglers Club. Please click the link for all the details. scgfa.ca/event/lake-erie-walleye-outing/ This event will only run on Sat if the weather allows, we are not able to do a “make up date”. An announcement will be made by email & on our social media platforms by 6pm Friday if its going to be cancelled. Shane Thombs is leading this and would appreciate a couple other helping hands to ensure it runs smooth.
Next up is our annual Kids Fishing Day in Port Dalhousie on Sat Sept 15 RAIN OR SHINE
Janet & her team have been working hard preparing for this and would also appreciate any extra help on the Friday afternoon & Saturday morning. All the details for Kids Day can be found here: scgfa.ca/kids-day/
Sat Sept 15 is also the final day of our Summer Salmon & Trout Derby with scales closing at 5pm. Its been a great season on the lake and the fishing remains good now still for all four species! As always we appreciate your patience as we try to keep our online leaderboard updated & accurate but sometimes are a couple days behind receiving entries from weigh stations.
Sunday Sept 30 will be our Derby Awards Night. A new date & location this year, the Rib Crib Restaurant in the Off Track Room. Everyone is welcome to attend, even if you didn’t win or take place in the derbies. Doors open at 530pm and your welcome to have some dinner from their great menu beforehand (optional) . The Awards Program will begin at 7pm. There will also be door prizes, raffles and a 50/50 draw. It should a great evening to celebrate another season amongst friends.
Our next General meeting is not until Mon Oct 22 7pm at the Rib Crib, more details on that to come.
We remind you to please find & follow us on our various Facebook, Instagram & Twitter platforms to keep up with the latest club news & updates.
Finally we would like to congratulate some members of our club, Lyle Gayder, Tyler Gehrke & Victor Papiaz from team “Copperhead” who won the Fall King Of The Lake Salmon Tournament this weekend, in their 17 ft boat against a very strong field of anglers. Well done boys!
