Today we set up just outside the sanctuary.
These guys however set up inside the sanctuary.
Mrs Andrews graced a kayak for the very first time. She has to sharpen her freestyle paddle and was therefore distracted from fishing thus a skunk.
I however had fresh bass for lunch - a small female with undeveloped eggs
Caught some of the usual suspects which are very welcome from a kayak. This guy towed me around for minute.
All the above happened in an offshore wind (NW) from about 10 to 11am. My nephew dropped by and we got back out around 3:30. The wind had shifted to SW and it was a totally different lake out there but I still managed 2/3.
I can only imagine next weekend will be ten times better as the shoreline was filthy from the heavy storms we've been having. If you didn't do a bass opener get out there and make sure to have a few for dinner. There are plenty of them out there!
