Message from Bruce Burt: Hi all, I’m sure most of you have heard that egg collection went very well this yr. We now have roughly 1 million Chinook eggs in the hatchery and they are eyeing up nicely. The eggs need one more week undisturbed then we must start the work of removing any dead eggs from the trays. Wed Oct 28th we will begin our regular evening work schedule with a 6:00 pm start and we will continue with every Wed evening and Sunday morning (9:00 am start) likely until Christmas. During this time we may have to add a few additional work evenings or Saturdays as workload at the hatchery dictates. I’ll send out emails of additional days but you can also follow the Hatchery schedule on our message board which has the most current information on what is happening at the hatchery. ringwoodfcs.proboards.com/index.cgi? Andy is also interested in help thru the day, so if you have any time to help out please contact him at the hatchery directly. Hope to see you on Wednesdays and Sundays starting on the 28th. Remember it takes a lot of effort to keep 1 million eggs clean – your help will be greatly appreciated. RINGWOOD IS ALWAYS IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS. THESE EGGS WILL SOON BE FRY FOR STOCKING, IN PARTICULAR OUR PEN PROJECT. DO YOUR PART TO SUPPORT THE EFFORTS OF MANY.
