General Meeting Minutes

Executive Present: Jerry M., Doug G., Tom C., Paul P., Bill B., George D., Bill A., Dan A., Don S., Charlie C., Brandon DeS., Jerry B., Jason P., Bruce M.
Dan Andrews arranged for MNR enforcement officers, Ron Arnold and Randy Tippin, to bring us up to date on what was happening with fish and wildlife enforcement.
For those that attended it was an informative and entertaining evening of discussion.
If you walked away with anything, it was the emphasis on using the TIPS line to report suspicious activity or infractions. All reports are reviewed regularly and play a major part in prioritizing the resources of the MNR.

1.JM: Treasurer’s Report:
>Tom had to leave early so Jerry summarized the financials
2.DG:
>there are 2 new potential sponsors who are looking to sponsor 1 week each for $250 in the spring salmon derby
>the dates for all derbies in 2010 are being reviewed by the derby committee
3.JM: President’s Report
>looking at new docks for the Pen Project
>the entire Pen Project is dependent upon Ringwood remaining viable, which is dependent upon volunteers
>our club needs to continue supplying volunteers to Ringwood
>a trip to Ringwood is being planned for either Tuesday, Nov. 3 or Thursday Nov. 5, to pick dead eggs from the trays: let Jerry know tonight if you can go on either of these dates
>there will be another trip to Ringwood in March to clip fins of the salmon fry
4. 50/50 draw: $35 won by Dagmar Miller

>Joe Montgomery’s annual ice fishing seminar will be held on Dec. 3rd: Joe needs volunteers to help him with the administrative duties
>Joe M. would like to list the new executive in the St. Catharines Standard
>Herb: gave summary of local hunting (deer & turkey), landowners concerns including grape and peach growers; concerns with MNR; concerns with wolves
>Dan A.: renew OFAH membership through him in order to get a discount
>Dagmar: Nov. 6 there is a fundraiser for her son’s minor peewee hockey club
