Some really nice fish being caught and almost caught out there. Fished from the water tower to the line from 6 a.m. on. Went 10 for 14. All mature fish but 3. Another 7 rips on the dipsey. Best fish was 23.28 lbs. Most fish are deep, 100+ feet in 180' - 220'. Lost 3 brutes today on meat. They ran to 575' on the reel and then flew out of the water and they were gone. Best rod was set @ 0.5/325' on wire. Does anyone know any secrets on how not to lose flying fish? Some great fishing weather coming up.
Cya on the water, Rob!

The one thing that i find that keeps fish on the end of your line is siwash hooks.I change all my trebles to singles and very rarely lose fish.I still lose the odd one but not like when i use trebles.

Yes, I was using a treble. Never thought of the hook here. Sorta funny on my part, I was thinking it was like Steelhead fishing and maybe I should drop my pole to the side and towards the water when they are going to the surface to do their dance.
Went out today, what a difference a day makes. Only 2 light hits on the dipsey's, not enough to trip them and one small shaker boated when I pulled lines @ noon.

Ya i find with trebles they have leaverage to twist the hooks out or bend them. Some people will say that it doesn't matter but i really believe that it makes a differance.

Rob, take a look for a sliding snell set-up for Rockets that Trannyman has posted on 'Pullers. This may help with your hookups.
