Welcome to the board,to answer your question about weighin in fish for the GOSD,you can only weigh in fish at one of the official weigh-in stations and i beleive that Grimsby tackle is the closest.

No prob, the tourny organizer will only allow certain places to have scales, which in my opinion is dumb.We caught a fish last year and had to drive it to grimsby, but your right there are alot of nice people down in port and i'm sure if the fish was worth a new car somebody would help you.

Can't give you any tips on the carp as i have never really fished for them.I also don't know where deer lake is, but you can't go wrong throwin bucktails around weedbeds for pike and muskie at this time of year, atleast thats what i would probably be throwin.Good luck up there and let us know how you make out.

You don't need to travel to catch carp, that's the great thing about it; they're everywhere. Solving them when their not biting is the challenge! When they are on though it can be a blast. I can't explain why the club can't get the GOSD weigh station but I know they have tried. It's up to that derbies organizers so your probably better to inquire there.

Any business/organization that is a GOSD weigh station CANNOT participate in the derby. If the club were a weigh station, NO MEMBER could participate.

That is a stupid reason. Not to get off topic but man it would be alot easier for the fishermen that fish on the south shore

So Pete's tackle could have a weigh station then right? They donate to ours but does Angela fish the GOSD?

Angela nor her employees could fish the derby. In addition, she is required to maintain longer business hours and cannot be a weigh station for other derbies, although the long established weigh stations do not abide by the requirements. This would eliminate them as a SCG&F weigh station.
