Well first of all this was published in the Outdoor Canada Magazine a couple years ago and it seemed pretty cut and dry. It was murder, it wasn't her first attempt, she was bipolar and it was just a matter of who was the better lawyer.
However she should still be charged with criminal negligence with a firearm causing death. They didn't get her on murder but even if she was innocent on that count, she was still careless and killed another human. If it had been any other person/hunter she would have been charged this way instead.
