The derby committee has decided to make a number of changes to the format of the club derbies for 2011. While charged with the responsibility of planning and executing the events, the committee is seeking your valued input to the proposed changes. The suggestions and comments will be reviewed to assist with their final decision. Attend the November 22nd meeting to participate in the discussions. If you cannot attend, you can PM or email me with your thoughts and they will be read at the meeting. Cut off for submissions to me will be Sunday November 21st. Please include your full name and membership number.
Some of the amendments proposed are: A) Return to the original spring derby format of a Chinook Salmon only derby with more and larger prizes. E.g. 1st place $5000, Weekly Big Fish prize package value $1000 (subject to continued vendor support)
B) Amend the Members Derby to a Chinook Salmon only Derby with more and larger prizes. (subject to continued vendor support)
C) Make allowance for the “registered Captain” of a boat ticket to have the same rights as an individual ticket.
Cheers, Jerry

What time on Monday should I arrive? The 6:00 p.m. start time or the 7:30 p.m. start time?
Seems to me like the loss of the shore fisherman without access to the Lake via a craft must be less than the increase of boaters that is expected to enter this "Boat Only Derby". I am sure the Charters may greatly appreciate this idea. The local tackle shops may also increase their sales in Salmon merchandise while totally deleting their sales in shoreline fishing during this derby. I myself am for idea's that benefit the club without any other motive. I guess the youngster's will just have to fish the Kid's Day Derby and wait until they can afford boat themselves, hope they have a friend who owns a boat or hire a Charter.
