The St. Catharines Game & Fish Association is embarking on a “loan” program whereby youngsters can be introduced to angling with borrowed equipment. Last evening a number of volunteers have stepped up to organize the initiative, which will be located at our club boat ramp. This is a logical and convenient home for the project as volunteers staff the ramp 7 days a week, weather dependent.
You can assist us by donating fishing equipment you no longer use ….. terminal tackle, rods, reels, small nets, pliers, live bait containers, even basic digital cameras to capture the event. Although youngsters are our primary target, we will accept almost anything and any items not deemed appropriate, such as lake trolling gear, will be sold at monthly club meetings and Thursday nights before fly tying sessions. Funds from the sales will go directly to supporting this initiative. E.g. re-spooling reels
