Most flies are made with a reverse lay. I find these flies to be too speed tolerant and thick. Other flies are made with a normal lay and a bead to puff them out. I find these to be too thin and on the speed troll or action troll, they just don't cut it. I have been experimenting with a "90 degree lay" and have found these to have just the right "puff" and lay @ all speeds. I use these for my Sushi flies so I just had to make a trolling fly. I made the fly holder. It is all one piece. It has epoxied eyes, both glow, silver and red eyes. All different color heads. As you can see, it has a built-in holding area for scent to be applied. The material used is the most absorbent material made, lol, I think the package says it also has "wings"....lol! Besides the normal glows, U.V.'s and silicones.......I found that the action on the fly in the water, greatly increases with a fine mylar. Currently, I am adding "Flashabou" and "Hareline" products to achieve the right flash and action to the normal banded mylar products. Cya on the water, Rigger!
