Taking into consideration the adverse weather forecast, the decision is to release half of the fry on Tuesday and the remainder on Wednesday. The plan is to start at 7:00 pm both evenings to reduce risk of bird predation. Pens and docks will be removed Thursday morning.

Another successful year of Pen Imprinting comes to a close due in no small part to the efforts of MEA/Ringwood, the MNR and our volunteers. THANK YOU EVERYONE! 2011 was a much more challenging year, with low water levels and cold water temps for the first of April delaying the fry delivery. With the fry finally in the pens, and just as everything seemed to be improving, a brute of a storm "blew" through threatening to literally confiscate the project. A quick dismantle protected the feeders until it was safe to resume. Somewhat surprising was the resiliency of the fry and how they manged to still put up a respectable growth spurt despite the adverse conditions. The nets are not dry yet, but already the talk is about 2012. Here are a few of the future "Kings" we set free. ;D

All done for another year. Pens and docks have been pulled for storage thanks to the efforts of Bruce, Fern, Jason, Norm and Wally for giving up their afternoon.
