Columbia Sportswear is joining our vendor team this year. They came on board after our print deadline, but hopefully they will see value in participating and supporting the great sports fishery of Lake Ontario.
I have also been approached by Canadian Tire to renew past partnerships. This can only lead to great things for the 2013 SCG&F Derby.
Who would not want to be part of the lineup of great supporting derby sponsors? Contact me to be a partner starting in 2013.

Hello Nittro
I am a retired guy who thinks it is finally time to go fishing....I have been wanting to do this for years....anyway...I see that the derby includes shore fishing....(I don't have a boat). Can you tell me some of the popular areas that I might try fishing at from shore in this area? I live near Lock One off Bunting Road. I suppose the Niagara River in Queenstion would be one spot...but are there other good fishing spots close by your club house? I guess it is time for me to get a license and get my old gear out of the rood of the garage to see what kind of shape my old fishing gear is in.

Welcome to the site.
Best bets for shore fishing for trout early in the season are the Niagara River, Port Dalhousie Piers and Jordan. Pier chuckers will sometimes hook salmon during the spring cold water period, especially when onshore winds push the bait in close.
Hang around the club ramp and you might strike up a friendship with a boater that invites you out on occasion.

Any members derby information will be announced at the May 28th meeting.
We are still working on acquiring prizes and are planning to have the dates and prize structure details available at that time.
