It was somewhat appropriate that we released 30,000 "teen" Chinook fry on Mother's Day. Norm, Jason, Mike, Wally and I took over an hour of TLC to ensure a successful departure of the little rockets. Thanks to Paul Malcomson, John Sager and the rest of the Normandale crew we had another banner year for the Port Dalhousie Chinook Pen Imprinting Project. The fry were a great weight when delivered and continued a tremendous growth rate until released. A couple of newbies that have to be recognized for their efforts to support the feeding and monitoring schedule are Mike Scrutton and Kolton Uitbegerse. Mike's daily assistance and Kolton's weekend availability took a big load off of my shoulders to fill the gaps. Kolton has a strong interest in the fishery with personal insight into raising "fish". Don't miss an opportunity to converse with this enthusiastic young man. A big thank you to all that fed and monitored the fry for four weeks. May your angling efforts be rewarded in kind.
