I've called around to all the local tackle shops and I can't seem to find any good cut herring strips anywhere. I've purchased some sardines from the grocery store and filleted them up but they seem to fall apart pretty easy. Any idea where to get some in the Niagara region? thanks I appreciate it.

I saw some at Peters last time I was in- a month ago, JB's in Toronto is carrying RHYS DAVIES, both whole and strips.

Cut bait sucks and is just messy and stinky!! Didn't think anyone used it any more!! Hey Phil, Rhys only does the whole bait now don't they? Familiar bite kinda teamed up with Rhys to produce a strip (similiar brine/cure) but it is by familiar bite now I believe but I could be wrong. Darkfisher..if you put the sardines in a cup of salt, borax and powder milk you will get alot more out of it! Toughens it up and won't tear apart dude. D.

Any proportions of the ingredients to help the interested anglers? I'm certain many would appreciate not going through the trial and error. Thanks D.

Pretty sure it said Rhys Davies on the package- they had a freezer full of strips, anchovies, and whole herring.

I will take a look I either got a huge box at food basics or the corner variety here in kitchiboo.

I bought them frozen at Sobey's I forget if it was the hwy 20 one or the Pelham road one. you get like 20 that are 9-10 inches long for like 5 bucks. I've just been filleting them and triming them to the shape of and MC rocket. they seem to fit the bait heads well. Now if I can ever find some time to get back out I'll give them a try. I died some green, we'll see how that works too.
