General Meeting Minutes
May 28, 2012
Present: Jerry M., Tom C., Paul P., George D., Mary S., John M., Dagmar M., Norm C., Chris H., Fern S., Bruce M., Mark P.
1. Financials: Tom C. (2 pages attached)
- Summary balance sheet (as of May 27, 2012)

2. Kids Day Derby – Dagmar M.
- 348 kids registered
- 14 student helpers from Sir Winston Churchill, Denis Morris, Holy Cross
- the cleanup afterwards was fast, smooth, excellent job
- over 700 hot dogs served
3. Pen Project – Norm C.
- fry were 12.54g average release weight
- $500 donation received from Reelbuddies
- $300 donation received from Chris Vanrooy, Deryk Hasty and Steve Pressman
- bank balance about $3100 designated for pen projects
- pen docks to be removed at 9am on Wed. May 30
4. Status of Joe Montgomery
- Joe took a rather bad fall after miscalculating the steps at the ramp. While somewhat resistant initially, it was necessary to call for an ambulance and have Joe taken in for medical treatment. He has a hairline fracture which they plan to stabilize with a small pin. In addition, Joe will have a pacemaker put in, a necessity that he has been considering for some time now. His left arm took quite a blow and as such mobility remains restricted. Not only did Joe damage his hip, but fractured his leg in three places. After the initial treatment, Joe was transferred to the Greater Niagara General in Niagara Falls, room 1228. He is undergoing a long term physio program to get back on his feet. His wife Carol is only three blocks away now, making visiting more convenient. Joe says "Hello" to everyone and can't wait to get back.
5. Tohatsu Motor draw by Calie Krauss
- With many thanks to Pisces Marine and Tohatsu for their generous sponsorship, the winner of the 9.8 Tohatsu four stroke outboard, who was aptly present for the draw, was Don Degrace.
6. Peter’s Tackle $3000 Big Fish Prize
- CONGRATULATIONS TO CHRIS VANROOY ON HIS CHINOOK WEIGHING 32lbs 9oz!
Angela Lee presented the winner with a $3000.00 cash prize for the first salmon over 31 lbs.

8. 2012 Member’s Derby
- before Derby details could be explored, we require a derby committee chairperson; request was made for someone to stand for this position at the executive meeting but no one volunteered.
