We went out of the bluffs yesterday. No kidding about the cold water. 53 surface at the ramp. fished from the brown building heading toward Toronto in 200+fow and couldn't move a rod for the life of us. after and hour or so we ran about 5 miles east to what I assume was the power plant? the water was about 2 degrees warmer on the surface but still only about 64 degrees. we had one hit on an 8 colour but would loose that fish. At 10:00 we decided to pull the boat and fish the credit where we heard there was some better water. had rods set by 12:00 in 210 fow in front of the filtration plant. and had our first fish in the boat by 10 after. we would go on to boat 5 fish and loose 2 by 1:30 with the biggest being 22Lbs. All of our fish came on cheaters up high and was a split of kings and bows. Thanks to big D for putting up with all my texts and helping me out as it was my first trip to either of those areas.

We where starting to wonder why we couldn't get a hit in the morning. we blamed it on the cold water...... but then..... Shortly after the banana was ejected from the boat was when we got our first hit in front of the power plant. This was our biggest and Kevin's first offshore king.

Thx for the update @ bluffs. It is gonna be tough finding tips with the GOSD starting this week. Last year, once you found the bait, you usually were on the fish. One time in July, I puttered around for 4 hours with nadda and finally found the salmon in 250' of water and they were 220' down. Another time, I found bait in 55' of water and never ventured past 120'. One thing for sure, I always have a line that will collect the zebra mussels.
Cya on the weekly GOSD winners, Rigger!
