Started out in front of Dalhousie around 6:30am with a dismal screen and we could only move a couple of rods. we gave it until about 8:45 and with only one decent fish which we lost and a couple of small chinny's Ethan and I decided to head way east to American waters by the red can. we worked the bar with the rest of the pack and almost right away we missed a wicked rip on the wire diver. decided to give it until 10 and we where going to call it. 9:57 the meat rigger fires and it's on. Ethan, looking to top his personal best of 21Lbs takes the rod. The beast takes him to 500 feet. 5 minutes into the battle he claims he needs a rest and wants me to get the fish closer for him. I remind him that if I help it can't be his record. He decides to finish the battle himself and man was he happy he did. he did a great job and smashed his record by over 4 pounds with this bad boy. I'm telling you he is the fish catchingest 8 year old I know.
