What a great day for a derby! The weather was great, the turnout was great, the day was just perfect. A total of 26 anglers showed up for the morning. John Reck started off the morning by catching a 1.12oz rainbow that was put in last year from our spring hatchery that we (SCGAF) released in the spring. Soon after John's catch, Mike Morris comes in with a 8.6lb rainbow taking the lead. Fred Hartley landed a 3.3/4 rainbow trout, Steve Robert followed by catching a 6.3/4 rainbow. Ivo Spirov caught a 1.8oz rainbow, John Dybysl landed a 8lb rainbow, Mike Morris landed another 4.1/2 lb rainbow. Seconds before the horn blew, "Last Minute Al Butcher" once again had fish on, but lost it after a good fight! A total of 8 fish were entered.
Congrats once again to the "lucky one" Mike Morris winning a grand total of $740.00! Congrats again Mike!
John Dybysl took home second winning a Crystal River fishing vest courtsey of Peter's Tackle (Thanks Angela!)
Steve Robert the "Derby Guy" took home 3rd place.
A huge thanks to Romeo Streamers and Gear for 6 prize donations the winners are: Max Lockstadt, Jordan Pierre, Matt Johnson, Mark Flood, Doug Robertson and Sebastian Kosiororiski. Also congrats to Ivo Spirov for winning the electric fillet knife and for donating it to kids fish day for catching the smallest trout of the day.
Our Kids Fish Day 50/50 draw brought in a total of $62.50, congrats to Jamie Kinsiov from Newfoundland!
